Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic competition. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she became champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she was an overall junior champion. In her first international competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning four gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first woman to ever successfully complete the backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she began her career in the entertainment industry by performing in the form of a figure skater. Together with her younger twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol started her career in entertainment as a teenager. Her first professional gig was figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment programs Ice Capades. The shows were ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
